"God is a Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:24)

Worship defined is heartfelt reverence, honor, praise and adoration we offer to God. The word worship comes from the Old English word "weorþscipe" or "worth-ship" which means "to give worth" or to "hold in high esteem".

The Hebrew word for worship is shachah, which embraces the act of bowing down and prostrating oneself before God as an expression of reverence and adoration. In the Bible, worship is not just a physical act, but also a heart posture of submission and adoration towards God. So, when we worship, we are not just going through the motions, but we are truly humbling ourselves before the Lord, recognizing His worthiness of our praise and honor.

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire.'" (Hebrews 12:28-29 NIV)

    We Were Created To Worship

Come with me! Let us enter into His presence. Let us linger in praise, and worship Him. Holy Spirit, fall upon us. Enter into His presence here and now. Just yield to Him. Give way to His will. Fall on us, Holy Spirit. Close your eyes friends, and begin to submit to Him. Lift Holy hands. I sense His presence. Yield to Him. We yield to the Lord! We yield! We yield. We worship you, for you are worthy. Be exalted O' God. Hallelujah!!! Be lifted up! Worship now with Hillsong or Bethel.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalms 100:1-5 NIV)

"To be used of God. Is there anything more encouraging, more fulfilling? Perhaps not, but there is something more basic: to meet with God. To linger in His presence, to shut out the noise of the city and, in quietness, give Him the praise He deserves. Before we engage ourselves in His work, let's meet Him in His Word... in prayer... in worship." ~Chuck Swindoll

"Worship is a believer's response to God's revelation of Himself. It is expressing wonder, awe, and gratitude for the worthiness, the greatness, and the goodness of our Lord. It is the appropriate response to God's person, His provision, His power, His promises, and His plan." ~Nancy Leigh DeMoss

"To gather with God's people in united adoration of the Father is as necessary to the Christian life as prayer." ~Martin Luther
