The bible is composed of sixty-six different books written over a period of about fifteen hundred years. The Bible is unique in that it was written by forty different authors with differing backgrounds. The authors were kings, fishermen, priests, government officials, farmers, shepherds, and doctors. From all this diversity comes an incredible unity, with common themes woven throughout. The Bible's unity is due to the fact that ultimately, it has one Author, God Himself. The Bible is God breathed (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV) meaning it was written by the inspiration of God. The authors wrote exactly what God wanted them to write, and the result was the perfect and holy Word of God. The entire canon of Scripture shares a common theme, God's salvation of mankind, and points to a central character, Jesus Christ. The Bible alone, presents Jesus Christ, as the only way to salvation.

"We go from Malachi to Matthew in one page of our scriptures, but that one piece of paper that separates the Old Testament from the New Testament represents 400 years of history - 400 years where there wasn't a prophet, 400 years where God's voice wasn't heard. And that silence was broken with the cry of a baby on Christmas night." -Louie Giglio

"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." (Hebrews 4:12 NLT)
Friends, if we want to see change in our lives and grow closer to Christ, it is essential that we make reading the Bible a daily habit. The Word of God is like a lamp that guides our steps and a light that illuminates our path. It is through reading and studying the Scriptures that we gain wisdom and understanding, leading to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible also helps us to remain aware of God's presence, bringing us joy, peace, and a deeper dependence on Him. Therefore, if we desire to be more like Christ and to know Him more intimately, we must prioritize daily Bible reading as a means of spiritual growth and transformation.
It's also essential that we meditate upon the Word of God, memorize it, and saturate our lives with it. Meditating upon the Word of God involves more than just reading it. It means to reflect, ponder, and deeply think about the teachings and instructions found in the Bible. Memorizing it allows us to carry it with us at all times, so that we can recall it when we need guidance or encouragement. Saturating our lives with it means to let the Word of God permeate every aspect of our lives, allowing it to shape our thoughts, actions, and decisions. By doing so, we can gain a deeper understanding of God's will for us and find success and prosperity in our lives.
