Promises Made – Promises Kept (Prophecy Fulfilled) -By Brother Chuck

By Brother Chuck
You probably think this post is all about President Donald Trump. You probably also think I'm referencing Trump's campaign slogan. You couldn't be further from the truth. It was a good slogan. He is perhaps the only president in our history that could honestly say he's kept the promises he made. No other politician can honestly say that. But then again, he never claimed to be a politician. He claimed to be an outsider who would drain the swamp. Drain the swamp is a metaphor that means to root out corruption. However my title, "Promises Made - Promises Kept" is not at all about President Trump.
Merry Christmas friends! Christmas is a time of remembering Christ' birth and resurrection so we can look forward with an expectant hope of His return. "Promises Made" are the promises God made to us through His prophets that a Savior would be born to save us from our sin. Sin, dating all the way back to the Garden of Eden. "Promises Kept" are the promises fulfilled. The Prophets foretold that His Name would be Immanuel which means "God With Us" and that He'd be born in a small village named Bethlehem. The Messiah of the world was to come to us born of a virgin. The Messiah was God's own Son. The birth of Jesus changed everything!

Promises Made - Promises Kept
Prophecy Foretold - Prophecy Fulfilled
Promise Made: "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14)
Promise Kept: "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." (Matthew 1:23)

Promise Made: "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given..." (Isaiah 9:6a)
Promise Kept: "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us." (Matthew 1:23)
Promise Kept: "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus." (Luke 1:31)

Promise Made: "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)
Promise Kept: "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." (Luke 2:11-12)
Promise Kept: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." (Luke 4:18-19)
Promise Kept: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)

Consider the mission of John the Baptist: "There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world." (John 1:6-9)
Now consider the Words of Jesus: "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (John 8:12)

Did you know, there are over 300 prophecies in the Bible that span
thousands of years, and ALL were fulfilled by the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is no coincidence. "Promises
Made - Promises Kept".
Let us stand in awe of these incredible foretold revelations and revelations fulfilled. Let us instill these truths of God's revelation to our family, our friends, and whosoever God so chooses to place in our path. Especially during Christmas time! This Christmas season, let us share the true meaning behind the Christmas holiday. Let us celebrate His entrance into the world during Christmas. Praise the Lord!
